What if a DOT changes its website?

It happens. How we monitor for it, how fast it gets fixed, and what you'll hear from us in the meantime.

It happens. DOTs redesign their sites and change document formats without telling anyone. LeadSifter is built expecting it.

How we monitor for it

Each DOT has its own reader, and we watch for the signs that one has stopped working: a letting that doesn't download, a proposal that comes back empty, a schedule of items that no longer parses. We also re-check a sample of proposals by hand every month, because format changes don't always break things loudly.

How fast it gets fixed

The people who built the reader fix it. Most changes are small, like a moved link or a renamed column. A full redesign takes longer. Either way, once it's fixed, we read anything that was posted in the meantime and the leads go out in the next report.

What you'll hear from us

If a problem delays your leads, we'll tell you by email instead of letting a quiet inbox look like a quiet letting.
