How soon after a letting is posted do I see it?

The timeline from a DOT posting to your 7:30 a.m. email, and what happens with late addenda.

Updated October 20261 min readBy the LeadSifter team, LTC Software Solutions

When a DOT posts a letting, LeadSifter pulls every proposal in it and reads it page by page. The leads go out in the next Daily Lead Report, which lands by 7:30 a.m.

From posting to your inbox

  1. The DOT posts the letting: plans, special provisions, schedule of items.
  2. LeadSifter reads every proposal and matches the line items against your product profile.
  3. Projects that score 3 or higher go into the next morning's email, sorted by score.

Every lead shows its letting date, so you know how much time you have before bids are due.

Late addenda

DOTs often issue addenda after the letting is posted, sometimes days before it lets. Addenda and re-advertised projects are re-read daily. If an addendum changes a project you've already seen, the lead is re-sent marked Updated, and the reasoning line says what changed.
