It can, and we would rather tell you where than pretend it can't. LeadSifter reads every proposal in every letting you monitor, page by page, including the plan sheets and the schedule of items. Misses come from a few specific places, and each one has a check.
Where misses come from
- Scanned plan sheets. Some quantities only exist as an image of a table, with no text behind it. We run OCR with a second pass on tables, and flag the sheet for review when confidence is low.
- Unusual item names. A DOT may list your product under a name you've never used, like
Select Crushed Material. If that name isn't in your product profile, the line item doesn't match. - Late addenda. Quantities sometimes change a few days before the letting. Addenda are re-read daily, and a changed lead is re-sent marked Updated.
How the keyword review catches them
During onboarding we draft your keyword list with you, including the DOT item names your products hide behind, then run it against last month's lettings and review the results together before the first email goes out. After that we review keywords quarterly, and any time your product mix changes.
Before a state goes live, we also hand-read a full letting and compare it to what LeadSifter found. We repeat that check on a sample of proposals every month. If you ever spot a project we should have sent, reply to the report and tell us. That reply usually turns into a keyword fix the same day.
